A breath of fresh air…..

Featured artist: It’s Chamb – A breath of fresh air…..

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist It’s Chamb from Mobile to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, It’s Chamb! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

It’s Chamb: Music has always been my first love. As long as I could remember I was infactuated with music, my mother use to sing a lot when I was younger. I played in the band, played in church… music is just a part of me. I feel in love with rap later down the line. My mom liked rap but she played a lot of radio rap. It was cool but I couldn’t really relate, now my cousins introduced my to that hard core street rap… the stuff I could relate to because the stuff they rapped about was the same stuff I was living, and seeing. Those where the ones I looked up to, and wanted to be….. I been making rap every since.

Don’t ever let nobody tell you to give up on your dreams. With music you get back what you put into it. Instead of buying studio time invest in your own studio. Man I can go on forever…. I have so much game to offer a person who wanna get into music.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I’m currently working on my 3rd studio album. It’s called “Hustle Westbrook Triple-Double at Halftime.” That’s set to be released January 2019. I also have “100 Points,” I have “138 Points” and a whole bunch of video, and stuff you can find on YouTube.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Man when I was younger I use to wanna sign to the majors but after studying a lot of these artist in these situations my heart has changed…. I just want a nice following, with a nice check!! I love making music, as long as I can have nice things, and my kids can be straight then I’m cool with just making music and being wealthy… forget the rest!
