As part of our ongoing “Raps New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Holli King ZA from Cape Town to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Holli King ZA! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Holli King ZA: Back in 2016 I used to listen to a local hip hop , then I realised that it is actually a good thing and I told myself that "I can do this or even better" so I pushed myself to do it.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I do perform live and I attended some music events

I gotta take my flight before the time is up

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I've released 10 songs in total and I'm working on an E.P. called The Tunnel

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes I would do that
