Martell DB, The Future Of The Music Industry!

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Martell DB.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Martell DB: I decided to become an artist after watching music videos on BET and MTV on a regular basis.

The best advice I was given was to be myself, and not try to be what others are.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I’ve performed at a lot of open mics, and showcases around Chicago. The most recent was at a High School homecoming.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

“It’s Ludacris how they won’t roll up out my business, 18 months ago they showed 0% in interest”

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Right now I’m working on my 2nd EP titled “Goals”. I plan on releasing that January 1st. My very first EP, “The Start”, is available on all streaming platforms as well as iTunes. I’m also producing a few projects for other artists along with doing music for a TV Show called “Consenting Adults”.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would sign only if it’s beneficial to my plans. One of the pros is having a company that can put money up for marketing. One of the cons is having to sign a 360 deal or sign all of your publishing away.
