As part of our ongoing “Raps New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist NVMLSS from Seattle to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, NVMLSS! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

NVMLSS: When I was about 11 MY cousin showed me Eminem’s “Marshall Mathers LP” and it changed my life. Hip Hop was a was a form of rebellion when I was a kid, but as I grew up it became a way to escape my everyday life and so at about 15 I started writing all the time.

It was simple, but when I met Russ last year and told him I was Tryna do this music shit he just told “the game is gonna try and kill you. Keep going”

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I haven’t performed live yet, I’m really trying to market my music outside my local scene lately though so we will see what happens

Best punchline you ever wrote?

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I just released my latest single “Hop Out” and right now, I’m working on taking over the world. Mixtapes, videos, crazy features and outside of music I’m working on a clothing line, and a bunch of secret shit, Be ready.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

It would take a lot for me to sign. The pros would only be if the contract was structured correctly, and I could end up making a LOT of money but for now I’m chillin

Any last words?

Shoutout my brothers Darion and Colin, my moms and dad for bein real ones, manager/brother Dillon, the homies Bj, Cristian, and Cameron, of course my beautiful girlfriend Maya, and everyone else rockin with my music.
