As part of our ongoing “Raps New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Headlines 2k from Eldoret to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Headlines 2k! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Headlines 2k: I started writing in form 2 …Swahili lyrics, articles,poems and I even had a novel going on…Later after I finished high school I decided to major in Rap I recorded first time in 2016 but ,I later learned production online and started a small record label by the name Waveforum

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I have a club tour going on in Eldoret city of champions for my new Album #Trvp_kenya.Last Friday I performed@24resortclub and people liked it. More people know Headlines now

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Heaven is the destiny everybody wanna be in, but for the right things no one in the world wanna do free It's all about the money, to live or die!

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Am about to drop my mixtape in 3days ;it's called NOT THE SAME

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

If a label is upto what every artists wants I would. Am trying to get my music out there because expanding for an artist is inevitable
