This generations’ lyrical mastermind!

Featured artist: Taesounds – This generations’ lyrical mastermind!

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Taesounds from Philly to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Taesounds! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Taesounds: When I was 11, my stepdad, Petty, taught me how to rap..Then a couple of my classmates tried to play my rhymes, so he helped put together a diss song, and I’ve been in love with hip hop ever since.

All publicly is good publicity!

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I play live, and give concerts, as well. I read, and write music compositions, play the piano, the drum, and the keyboard, and I like to incorporate it into my performances.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Just because you met me, that doesn’t mean you know me.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I’m currently working on my EP. I just released my first single, called Change.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would sign a record label with a major record label, because they have the ability to get me exposure in markets I am not able reach on my own.
The downside to signing a major label deal is the percentage of profit they take, and the artist restrictions.

Any last words?

I would like to shout out everybody in Philly. All of the producers, and artist that are out here with me chasing this dream. My mom is my number one supporter, and manager, so I just want to tell her Thank you for always riding my wave, and paying for that studio time. My lil sister, lil Mayaa, who is also a music artist, and gives me chills when I think about he possibilities for our future. And last, but far from least, Black Queen Studio, our studio home, built by my Mom and I.

Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?
