Featured artist: Corey Coka – Slimeout

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Corey Coka from Denver to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Corey Coka! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Corey Coka: I became an artist by freestyling in the car with friends during smoke sessions.

The best advice given to me as an artist was to come up with a flow on a beat before I write my lyrics.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, I play live in concerts and I bring a lot of enthusiasm and energy at my shows.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

” C- Coka be the name I’m hella dope, fresh money from the bank need envelopes” – Corey Coka

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I’m currently working on and album but I have been releasing new singles and mixtapes consistently lately. Check out my latest single ‘Slimeout’ prod. by me out now worldwide.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would sign a record contract with a major label because It would help expand my brand and generate more revenue. The pros would be more exposure for my brand and the cons would be that I have percentages I have to share with other people for my own music.

Any last words?

Shoutout to all my fans and supporters and my hometown Denver, Colorado stand up!

Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?

Corey Coka:

Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.
