Featured artist: Young Fatboy – Motivation and dedication
As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Young Fatboy from Jacksonville to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…
Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Young Fatboy! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?
Young Fatboy: Well when I was 16 maybe 17 I started recording writing music. I always love music since a child I had a ear for it. I was in incarceration at 18 I started writing allot of music I fell in love with my raspy voice so when I got out and just went full throttle dropping mixtape back to back I had put rap down for bout 3 years now I feel like I'm ready this is my moment and time
Umm don't never stop keep pushing authentic music allot of folks tell me my voice can not be imitated so I keep that advice and compliment with me at all times
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I have had free concerts before I got incarcerated and after but not in 2018 but I just signed up with afton shows so it will not be long
Best punchline you ever wrote?
"Non religious but when I speak it's coming from the higher man".. "my spirit something serious I can turn to another man"
