Sadly Optimistic

Featured artist: Jerms – Sadly Optimistic

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Jerms from Los Angeles to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Jerms! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Jerms: Writing music saved my life, I started poetry at 13 and have been writing for ten years and am finally obtaining a good audience of loving people

Annunciation, and be true to yourself.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I throw my own art shows that are all charity events and community based efforts to raise awareness on specific issues each show.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I was briefly critiquing it all so easy, the simplest way to please me is starve me before you feed me.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Our first studio album, we’ve done over 100 singles that we’ve released for free on multiple platforms and 40 music videos. All low budget and kind of wack but raw and real.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Possibly a short one for exposure but for the most part no. We want to never be restricted

Any last words?

Anyone who listens. My friends and my family.

Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?
