The Next Slim Shady?

Featured artist: Elimino – The Next Slim Shady?

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Elimino from Coos Bay to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Elimino! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Elimino: I started rapping at ten years old after i somehow got my hands on a Bone thugs N' Harmony album back in 2000. Dre's 2001 one album came out shortly after that featuring the up and coming Eminem… After hearing them, i knew that i wanted to do Hip-Hop!

The best advice given to me so far was from Atlantic Records' A&R Knowledge, who told me to make sure my songs weren't too "Rappy" and that my hooks were really important and should stand out in the song.

Elimino

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, i currently so smalls shows at local clubs and am planning to go to Redding, california next!

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Catch Fate before it catches you, because it's something that you have to do/ we wont always have youth so i consider myself proof, that we're livin' the the path we choose/ you f%*kin douche..

Elimino

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I have a one year non-exclusive deal with Bentley Records that i am finishing up. I Will be releasing my first full EP soon and likely following up with a series of singles im calling the Elimino Offense!

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes. The Pros are what the team that a major label can do for your workin on your behalf. A Con may be the direction they need you to go with your Image. It's a fine line, but im willing to tight-rope it! nothing ventured nothing gained!

Any last words?

Shout out to The infamous Aldeezy for his features on the EP, LA Familia Gang from Portland, OR, Bentley Records for signing me, My hometown Redding, and to my family and friends here in coos bay for their continued support!
Also much love to the fans who traveled from Washington, Oregon, and California to be at our last show! THANK YOU ALL

Hippy kids are coming for hiphop!

Featured artist: Chris Cool Peeples – Hippy kids are coming for hiphop!

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Chris Cool Peeples from Schenectady to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Chris Cool Peeples! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Chris Cool Peeples: Well Lil Wayne inspired me to pick up a pencil and start writing lines but it wasn't till around the beginning of the Cole era where I actually started putting meaning and love into the words I wrote.

" If this is what you love to do, why stop doing it?"

Chris Cool Peeples

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I have performed over 10+ times in the Albany, NY capital region alongside some amazing artists and friends. It's my favorite part of being an artist. Bringing thoughts and vibes directly to the people, ya know?

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Gotta appreciate every gift, it's a blessing they let you live. Yea you guessed it bro this is it, it's a hit, the only time I miss? December 25th homie. (Chris-miss)
my presence means that it's a wrap. It's not about where you from its bout where you at. My state of mind just got me stating facts, I'm clocked in.

Chris Cool Peeples

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Right now I'm wrapping up the last couple songs for my HIPPYFLIP project set to release in March 2019. It's great because it's a real refreshing sound for sure. I just dropped a cool ass track titled 'DOOMSDAY' with a video on my Facebook page. It's a cover to a throwback Kid Cudi track I really rock with. Hes a goat for sure. Put some respect on his gangsta lol

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Fuck yeah man I don't see why not. My goal is to spread a message more than anything and really tap into the crowds and music festivals, direct consumers. The team you get behind you is a major pro and a con would obviously be losing out on some money with your music but it's all risk vs. reward. Comes with the territory.

Any last words?

BIG BIG BIG Shoutout to the whole 518 upstate NY music scene. People making a lot of noise out here right now it's super inspiring! Schenectady, Albany, Troy on the rise.
