Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Jazzy Royale.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Jazzy Royale: All my life growing up I have been a big fan of the hip-hop culture and poetry. In school I was the little girl admiring the battle rappers beating on lunch tables and spitting fire. Then one day I just whipped out a pen and pad, put a beat on and realized I had a good flow from what everyone would say and decided to make music seriously. I had few artist that we a big inspiration as well.

The best advice given to me as an artist was to just let your soul bleed out through the ink of your pen. To never give up or give in to others. Protect your craft.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I am currently doing shows and traveling all over. I want to start doing more international shows and smaller cities. I love to connect with my real fans.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I’m sharper than hallow points hot up out the barrel.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am working on a few new projects right now at the moment. I am releasing a few singles and finishing up my EP. You can find my work on every music platform right now.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I am a new independent artist I started my own record label that I signed myself to called Royale Empire LLC. I am not against signing to a major label if the contract and money is right. No 360 deals around here. The pros to signing with a major is the marketing and backing they give you. But the cons, they OWN you.

Any last words?

Shoutout to my city. Straight out the streets of Crenshaw, Los Angeles California. Shoutout to my supporters I love you and a bigger shoutout to my haters.
