Next Up Out Of The Lou

Featured artist: Robb B – Next Up Out Of The Lou

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Robb B from St Louis to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Robb B! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Robb B: Music has always been apart of my life . My mother was a dj , so since I was a youngin I’ve always been listening to Luther Vandross, Gerald Levert , The Temptations & So On . My brother had his own singing group too , so I’d always go to studio sessions with him and that’s where I really fell in love with music and decided I wanted to become an artist. Around the age of 11 is when I started messing around with music .

Always give it all you got . Not everybody is going to like your music but that doesn’t matter , always give 110%

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I absolutely Play live , I’ve only had one concert in my city .

Best punchline you ever wrote?

If they ain’t hating , you ain’t doing enough .

Robb B

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Currently I am working on a mixtape at the moment along with a couple other features with artist from my city .

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I personally wouldn’t sign to a major label because labels basically have you signing your life away , you’re basically a slave for them . You can’t release the music YOU want to release. They make you wait on clearances and whole bunch of other stuff. In my opinion I’d rather stay strictly independent.

Any last words?

Shout out the whole St Louis 314 . Shout out to my family , friends , all the supporters and of course all the haters and doubters.

Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?
