Featured artist: SWITCHILL – YUGO

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist SWITCHILL from FUKUOKA to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, SWITCHILL! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

SWITCHILL: When I was in junior high school, I first fell in love with XJAPAN and started with a copy band of Japanese rock musicians.
At that time, I copied LUNA SEA and L'arc ~ en ~ Ciel and participated in the school festival.
When I was a high school student, I changed to a copy band of American rock music and played limp bizkit and red hot chilli peppers.
At that time I was playing the band vocals.
However, there were times when the members didn't get together, so I became a rap musician who could be active in solo.

The best advice for an artist is to continue without giving up.
