As part of our ongoing “Raps New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist MaizyF from Toronto to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, MaizyF! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

MaizyF: I didn't decide it just happened… music has been apart of me since a child

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Not only do i perform love but i organize and produce the 6ix female cypher series which is a platform for other female rappers to shine.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I got that curry aim but I ain't playing games step back and shoot see your panties full of curry stains…

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I recently released a single "NO Wallet" and dropped the visuals for that. My music has renetly been featured in films and on radio.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would if the deal was right. I feel like handing over full control to a label can be not the best thing for some artists but the resources a label can provide is awesome and would be something to think about.
