The Emulation of Truth

Featured artist: TEC – The Emulation of Truth

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist TEC from Orlando to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, TEC! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

TEC: I felt the need to bring real music and wholesome content to a generation that does not have many good music to look up to. It was a calling I felt that was needed, in order to combat the mental, social, and spiritual issues many youth and adults go through.

Be reachable! & To always focus on one song at a time, if your focal point is on too many things at once, you’ll never perfect your craft, even though there’s always room to improve and be reachable.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I have performed live at many local festivals and have opened for acts such as Benjamin, Roy Tosh, and KJ-52.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Sugarcoat, I never will, I’m like a cop these days, shoot to kill.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working on a full length album releasing early in 2019. I have many project posted on my website.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I’m not entirely sure, I believe the pros are a lot of good promotion and support from big companies and radio stations etc, but the industry and money sometimes are more beneficial for the artist themself if they go to a more independent label.

Any last words?

I want to shoutout my family, my mother, my late father, my sister, my wife, one of my biggest supporters, Peter Soto (also known as my barber), my frequent music collab partners, Nu Mercii & Lu. Shout out to Puerto Rico for birthing me, Miami and Orlando for raising me, and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for welcoming me soon.

Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?
