Song writer, Rapper, Singer, Performer

Featured artist: Tommy Ca$h Vercetti – Song writer, Rapper, Singer, Performer

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Tommy Ca$h Vercetti from Detroit to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Tommy Ca$h Vercetti! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Tommy Ca$h Vercetti: At a young age, I fell in love with Hip-Hop and R&B. Throughout the years I studied Jay-z, Biggie, Stevie Wonder, New Edition and other artist who have inspired me. It started with me writing rhymes and songs in my notebooks, to having the confidence to present my music to other people who gave me positive feedback and good vibes.
As I got older and finally linked with my Dad to professionally record my vocals and listen back to them, that's when I decided to become a artist.

The best advice given to me as a artist, is to be yourself in your music, create so others can relate, never let up on your dreams and enjoy yourself.

Tommy Ca$h Vercetti

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, I do perform live shows and soon as my EP drops I will be doing concerts as well. Live vocal performance with a Dj or band will be what my show consist of.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

"Haters wanna act foul, but I still score And 1, built for this business, no need for no lessons, I just keep living and intaking my blessings, this rap game is a death match so I'm Russian rouletting."

Tommy Ca$h Vercetti

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Right now I am finishing up my first EP "Food For Thought" and I released the first single "Money and the Fame" this past February on all platforms.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I want to sign to a major record label. I really want a partnership distribution deal with a major. The pros to signing with a label is that a label can help you with distribution, advertisement and studio time and can set you up with connections to different tours and relationships with other artist on the label. The cons to signing with a major label is that you will not always have creative control over what music gets put out to the public. The label decides on what's the best records you have created to put on your album or for a single.

Any last words?

S/O to my producer and partner TomTom of Aux88, S/O to my manager Chi Chi and S/O to my city Detroit,.

Rap Streets of San Francisco

Featured artist: Black Solo – Rap Streets of San Francisco

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Black Solo from San Francisco to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Black Solo! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Black Solo: I always wanted to live from music. I studied at the San Francisco Conservatory to become a sound engineer. I worked in several studios during the last 5 years. At the end of 2018, one of my friends recommend me to compose for myself. According to him I had some talent, but being rather shy, I did not really want to be on the front of the stage. Well, it's good to see the fan community listen to your songs.

As a sound engineer, when you mix a track, you must listen, you learn to listen to the artist feelings, to the vibes, to the fans. As a relatively ‘young artist’, my advice would be to « Listen and learn ». Listen to others, listen from others, listen from your body, listen from feelings, from people emotions.

Black Solo

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Not yet. I recorded 3 tracks in studio early 2019. One of it, ‘Maniac’ seems to have a great scenic potential. I join the « Oh My Music » urban festival in Amsterdam in June. Let’s see how far it goes.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Time is my best friend.

Black Solo

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

For now, I released 3 tracks – « Level7 » and « BackSlash » are Cloud Rap styled songs. « Maniac » is a pure rap/pop track. First numbers on streaming platforms shows interest. So, starting July I will start to work on another trilogy.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I signed with a new label in Miami – Paradise Label. They manage my social network footprint, my website, my records. We’ll see. It is not exclusive. So, I am open to any business proposal.

Any last words?

I started from nothing. All my childhood friends told me that the world of music and rap was inaccessible. San Francisco city had a program to help children learn music… I was fortunate to join. 10 years later, be an engineer of sound is my first step which gives me a certain legitimacy but above all that allowed me to discover myself as author and composer.

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Fantacy from Pittsburgh to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Fantacy! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Fantacy: I was inspired by one of my boys I know since elementary. Around the age of 13 influenced by all different genres of music… mostly rap & rock & roll. We watched Wiz Khalifa & Mac Miller come up and rise ! That was so much motivation right there. That made me want to go so much harder to be like them but in my own way… but when he would freestyle it made me want to learn & eventually we started writing music together just recording and freestyling in the laundry room at my grams house on the IAMtpain app lol good times… After he passed away at 18 I told myself I would never give up and make it for both of us … I did my first show without him on stage but I know he was watching! Been at it ever since learning the ways and refining my steps

Be yourself, don't try and be just another clone.. be unique .. be one of a kind .. something people don't usually see often but when they do it lights up their hearts! ALSO have fun!!! That's what it's all about!

Fantacy

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I play live .. I wish I had a full band, but that's another work in progress when I perform live it's usually jus need on the stage. Picking up a few instruments for live music and eventually to make different genre's of music

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Just enjoy this shit

Fantacy

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working on a mixtape that will take over Spotify.. I have a mixtape you can still go download on DatPiff ha I think it's outdated now but!! If you go on their and type "virtual reality" my mixtape will come up featuring all old-school video game type beats & I was very young and dumb at the time .. please go check it out I am 25 now that was probably released when I was 16-17

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would consider signing a contract with a label, but I know my worth & would need to workout a partnership or I will eventually jus start my own record label … The only label I would want to sign to right now is JetLife Records or TaylorGang

Any last words?

Shout-out to all my people that believe in me and always have I have much work to do. But it will benefit the world !
