As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Jacques Jones from Brooklyn to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Jacques Jones! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Jacques Jones: Music is all i felt i had in my dark times. Losing friends to suicide and drugswill make you either give up or strive for greatness. I chose to strive!

I definitely perform live.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am working on my first debut album of 2018.I am use to putting out only EP's and singles but now i am going all in.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would sign a contract, but I would have to have full creative control and as for what to sign, i would sign a distribution deal mainly.

Any last words?

I am representing Brooklyn, New York, but shout out to my family in Florida called, "Impact Era".
