Your Favorite Nobody

Featured artist: D Lo Tha Krooked – Your Favorite Nobody

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist D Lo Tha Krooked from Itasca, Texas to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, D Lo Tha Krooked! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

D Lo Tha Krooked: I always loved music as a kid growing up and knew I wanted to do something with it, just never exactly what. I went through struggles and pain for quite a while and took a lot of inspiration from Z-Ro, his music was like poetry to me. It spoke real stories and pain. Later I gained insparation from both Z-Ro and Starlito’s music that made me decide to start making music of my own.

People always gone have something to say so do you, stay true, and worry ’bout yourself.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I’ve performed with a lot of older Texas artist’s like Chalie Boy, Lil Flip, Devin The Dude, and a couple new ones like Kirko Bangz and Young Nation. I’m currently planning a Texas based tour with approximately 35 shows in locations around the whole state.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Rockin’ golds in tha slab while my stomach still rumblin’, this black top jungle, think I let it pull me under..

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I’m working on changing my style up some right now with a plan to release 5 different albums this year, each with a different style. My latest album “Sumn Different” is out now on all digital platforms with some music videos on YouTube. More videos will be coming soon.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would sign a short form deal with a record label, a year maybe a 2 year contract. Just to gain contacts and exposure. I’d rather remain independent but I feel like signing a short term deal would get my foot in a lot of doors.

Any last words?

Shout out to I.T. Texas, 6-8-7, 2-50-4 ’till we go. And shout out to all my Big Bro’s and tha few people that’s stayed 10 toes since day 1.

Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?

D Lo Tha Krooked:

Thank you for your time. We wish you much success in your further career.
