Featured artist: Max Lowe – The New Standard is Being Set.
As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Max Lowe from New Jersey to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…
Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Max Lowe! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?
Max Lowe: I dont think I became an artist, I've always been one. Expression is something that comes naturally to me so when I picked up the pencil for the first time I just had a feeling in my gut.
Be ready to sacrifice. This industry is a ruthless place and you'll never get everything you want. Build your brand and be smart so you have the leverage to no longer have to sacrifice.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Of course! I just started my own showcase in Jersey so we can help give back to artists in my community.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
"Turn oil to gasoline, and coils to mattress springs, cuz if you sleeping on me you'll get burned like the Arab spring"
"So momma when the sun sets, just know that your son set"
"Where was yall when my pockets was filled with fuckin air, but I'm up now my pockets feelin like balloons, blow hard rappers gotta go harder than resisting nudes, just so they can say that they gettin it like they living proof of what it means to be at the pinnacle of this wicked youth"
