Featured artist: Ejypt – New to the Freshman List
As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Ejypt from Los Angeles to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…
Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Ejypt! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?
Ejypt: As a kid I always used to freestyle with my boys, or have “roast battles”. I never thought to take it a step further until one day a close friend of mine set up a mini studio in their apartment bathroom where I record my first single Don’t Touch. In a weeks time I had thousands of streams on that song and knew I couldn’t stop there!
Don’t let the game change you, you change the game
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I have had the opportunity to perform at clubs in Los Angeles and in Maryland.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Get Squenked! Be Squenked! Stay Squenked!
