Featured artist: Trafek – If you never strained some you probably never gained none
As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Trafek from Omaha to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…
Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Trafek! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?
Trafek: When i was younger (12-14) everyone was in their own little cliques , I was never in any crowds I did what I enjoyed , and I enjoyed poetry , bass lines , and punchlines , Decided to put them all together and become a rapper and haven’t looked back
Make sure you’re passionate about what you do or progress will suffer
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes I love playing live ! I feed off the energy
Best punchline you ever wrote?
“I wear cammo condoms so they can’t see me cummin, leave you numb’n like the white residue that you gummin when I’m summoned”
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I just realized Trafek – Lines , my first album . Currently working on a few projects here in the city of Omaha .
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I would ! The pros would be the exposure and the advancement . It would be nice getting promoted by a label .
The cons would be having to conform to their standards , perhaps having to change some of my work to adapt to their wants and demands . Probably also a con I would frown upon would be the rights to my music wouldn’t belong to me.
Any last words?
Omaha stand up ! With out Trafek the streets would be empty !
Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?
Thank you for your time. We wish you much success in your further career.
