As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Hue Hef from Staten Island to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Hue Hef! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Hue Hef: I started rappin at 7 years old my mother taught me how to rap because she saw I loved music

The best advice was giving to me was from my mother she told me if I believe in myself and work hard enough then anything’s possible . Since a kid I wanted to make music with wu tang and I’m really living my dream she was right

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I’m recently on tour with method man

Best punchline you ever wrote?

You think hue play timid I got aim but I’ll roll up and squeeze like my tooth paste finished

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Yes I’m on the new wu tang album the saga continues track 3 called fast and furious with me and raekwon

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes they are stepping stones and entry level positions into the music industry it’s up to you to take it to the next level

Any last words?

I just want to give a shout out to my mom mc chilly Dee aka daphne Nielsen for believing in me and not giving up on me and to my uncle fresh for introducing me to rza to make all of this happen Staten Island we next up and I’m ready to bring bars back
