New album discussion

Featured artist: Smoke – New album discussion

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Smoke from Springfield to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Smoke! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Smoke: When I was 11 I heard eminem for the first time. The song that was playing was hailie's song and the way he put the words together really resonated with me. After that I started writing as a way to speak my mind and get my feelings out. The rest is history.

Think outside the box. Stand out be unique. Be yourself and don't let your ego get to you.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I play live and perform at concerts. I travel to different states and cities across the U.S and perform.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I sit down eat your chick and when I leave she wash the dish

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I'm currently working on my debut album "Grind Now Sleep Later " which will have plenty of records that everyone can and will relate to and all the talented artists that will be on the album as well.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes and no the pros being that getting my music to my fans faster, promoting would be easier as well as touring. The cons would be I wouldn't see a dime until the advance was paid back would lose creative control and wouldn't be able to have the image I've worked so hard on.

Any last words?

I want to shout out my team, my family, my kids who I do this for and also the fans without y'all there is no me.

Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?
