Featured artist: Attai – Independent artist rising

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist Attai from Louisville to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, Attai! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

Attai: I was always interested in instruments as a kid I grew up in a church where my cousins beat the drums literally and then I had 3 aunties that pertained to the choir it was like I was seeing a part of me as I single only them out to watch one create the beat the rythim and the other add vocals and the vibe I would just get so lost in it like it was bigger then the world we are in now, i still feel that way music plays a major role in the way i am motivated in life, long story short mother and father didn’t work out they went through a divorce i split with my moms an began being bullied in a city I felt I had no voice in so now i leave it all on paper and tracks! Attai

Be you!
