Females taking over

Featured artist: RAXX – Females taking over

As part of our ongoing “Rap’s New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist RAXX from Toronto to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, RAXX! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

RAXX: I wanted my voice to be heard for females. I talk about sex, drugs, miscarriages, love and it’s all from a females perspective.

“Only trust yourself in this game”

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I play live. My favourite show to play is The Kitty Palace. It showcases all the best Toronto Female talent from in and around the city. There are rappers to R & B artist and singers.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

“Wake me up with that dick, call it alarm cock”

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Just putting out at much as I can to get noticed. I just dropped an EP on SoundCloud called Rated R. I am also in the studio working on more music to put out.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

If the money was right, yes. The con would be not having creative control and that’s something I always want to have.

Any last words?

Shout out North English for helping me with my sounds.
Shout out my number one muse. (You know who you are)
Shout out all my family and friends.

Where can people follow you to stay up-to-date?
