Don’t quit, your right around the corner!

Featured artist: merc the phoenix – Don't quit, your right around the corner!

As part of our ongoing “Raps New Generation” series, today we sat down with the upcoming underground artist merc the phoenix from killeen tx to talk about his recent music, his upcoming projects, his career advice and his overall experiences being in the music industry and he did not disappoint…

Thanks for taking the time to talk with us, merc the phoenix! Let’s go back to the beginning of your career. How did you decide to become an artist?

merc the phoenix: I love music with a passion, growing up listening to my father play old school music every sunday.
At an early age i started to notice that making music really became therapy. So no matter what mood I'm in, i know i can alway jump in the studio and release all my tension.

If you want to record everyday, then how about you get your own studio.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I'm always willing to perform live shows, but as for playing a specific instrument not i do not play an instrument .

Best punchline you ever wrote?

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

currently i have a few projects I'm working on. My next album which i just dropped one earlier this year. is my webpage. Also I'm putting together another LP, which will be used for promotional purposes.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes i would sign with a label. Even though im currently doing everything a label will do besides give me distribution. I record, mix and master, I've taught myself how to make a webpage, doing graphic design, im working on my internet marketing skills now.

Any last words?

to all my family and friends that have been there for me, i would also give a shout out to the ones that didn't help or give support . If they only realized i don't take no for an answer so negativity really is my main motivation.
