Who Is This Young Artist

Featured artist: MANDOBOII – Who Is This Young Artist

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist MANDOBOII.

How did you decide to become an artist?

MANDOBOII: I became to be an artist because I love music especially rap/hip hop. I’ve always had a dream to become one of the biggest out there. I’m still young but I won’t let that faze me to becoming the artist I wanna be. My parents always used to argue about not having the money they needed to pay the mortgage and other bills. I would hear them arguing all the time. Us Latinos don’t have all to good jobs coming to the us. So basically finding work is the hardest thing to do. I always told my self that when i make it big, I would do a lot more for my community then anyone has ever done. For the better of my family and also for the better of where I grow up at. That’s the reason i became an artist.

The best advice I ever got was from my Cousin who passed away this year. The advice she gave me was to not stop on what I wanted to be and to do for my career, weather it was being an engineer or an artist. That advice she gave me inspired me even more cause she would always help me during the bad times I had growing up.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

No I don’t do live performances or nor do I do any type of concerts yet.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Don’t fear your enemy that attack’s you, But the fake friend that shakes up with you

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Well right now I’m currently working on my new album named “Trippy Mind” on all major platforms. This album really doesn’t have a back story to what I called it. But I think once it’s done and I release it, people might start getting a little idea of why I called it that.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would probably look into all that contract info before I ever sign with any major labels cause I might not see some things that I don’t like. But to be honest I would really love to stay independent and having a bigger fan base that actually appreciates me for being me and doing the music I wanna do. But also maybe there could be some advantages to it, if you like what you see in that label. So there’s really both advantages and disadvantages to this.

Any last words?

Shout out to my family and friends who always supported me through this journey that is still in progress. Another shout out to my Mexicans down in lil village and Down in Cicero 49th ave. Also And another special shout out to my two best partners that were with me in the beginning Lorenzo and Juan.
