West Coast Female Rapper

Featured artist: Nene B. – West Coast Female Rapper

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Nene B..

How did you decide to become an artist?

Nene B.: I decided to become an artist because I've been into music my whole life. I actually started out writing poems growing up and that turned into me rapping. There isn't an artist that sounds like me or look like me.

The best advice I was given as an artist is to stay focused. I was told to never change to make anybody feel comfortable. I was also told to promote myself and never stop networking.

Nene B.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I've never played live or given a concert, but I'm looking into a manager to book me for shows. I know I can do it without a shadow of a doubt.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I see the snakes, I smell the hating I observe shit while I'm calculating.

Nene B.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Currently, I'm working on dropping my single and music video next month. My single will get a little radio play. I will be following up with my debut album.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I'm actually signed to a distribution deal called DubCNN Ent through Empire. A Compton, LA artist by the name of West Haven actually signed me and I'm so thankful for him. I'm not close minded to signing with a major label. I think that the pros to signing would be that you are heard global, you can travel the world, and take care of your family. I think the cons are that you can possibly not be in control of the music you put out, the people you want to work with, and the image you are comfortable with.

Any last words?

I want to give a shout out to my family and my West Adams family. A special shout out to my mother Sherrie, my big sister Shadei, my uncle Gary, my auntie Meka, my mentor WestHaven, my brother Lil Man, Tiny KB, Lil Bit,Lil Slim,Baby A Dog,Mad Ron, AMG the label and anybody else rooting for me. That boosted my confidence and that's when I knew I wanted to make it my career.

The best advice I was given as an artist is stay focused. I was told to not change anything about me to make anybody feel comfortable. I write all of my music and I was told to not stop. To also apply pressure, promote myself and never stop networking.

KINGMiDAS Ushers in a New Golden Age

Featured artist: KINGMiDAS – KINGMiDAS Ushers in a New Golden Age

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist KINGMiDAS.

How did you decide to become an artist?

KINGMiDAS: Ever since childhood I've always been interested in doing something creative with my life. At first I was really into drawing. Then that shifted into storytelling, then filmmaking and eventually making music. I've been writing raps since 14 but didn't let people know until I was already 19 because I didn't know if I was good enough. But after recording a track, people liked it so I made more and people liked those too.

The best advice I've been given as an artist is to never give up on your dream. Everyone's heard that corny line but it's true 100%. You never know where you can go and it would be really crappy to find out you were your own biggest obstacle when it came to living out your dreams.

KINGMiDAS

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, I do play live at most chances I get. I like the process and experience of booking a show and performing these songs I've made for the people in person. Can't wait for them to get bigger and bigger.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

"Bills" is the best and the worst word here. You can't have both, so you better choose wisely. That 3-Day Notice gettingreally fucking near. Will you pay the rent or send your child to the Ivy's?

KINGMiDAS

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I'm working on my debut project "Blaze347". It's my first release, an unofficial mixtape that is meant to show who I am as an artist. A sort of introduction to who KINGMiDAS is. All songs written, mixed, and mastered by me and only me. Releasing soon (before the end of 2016) so please look out for it!

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yeah I would as long as I knew there weren't any people with ill intentions having a hand in my pocket. With everything you hear about labels nowadays, it seems like a risky move but label backing is extremely helpful. I'd love to be able to release an official studio album with a label as long as the deal I'm under isn't as shady as the stories you hear about record labels recently.

Any last words?

Shoutouts to my rappers Jay Gxld, Lex King, the guys in Gold Mind, KO Flows, Walkinbank $iah, and everyone else I might've forgot.
Shoutouts to my bros Ty Taylor, KaZ, Felix, Paco, Vin, El, and all the rest
Shoutouts to all my supporters, y'all keep me going
Shoutouts to my mother, I do this for you
And finally
Shoutouts to BROOKLYN

Kanye better watch out, next artistic super producer on the rise!

Featured artist: M@nni M@n!a – Kanye better watch out, next artistic super producer on the rise!

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist M@nni M@n!a.

How did you decide to become an artist?

M@nni M@n!a: I started rapping to my oldest brother's beats around age 7. Throughout elementary school, I rapped in a group with my siblings until I "retired" in middle school. It was then that I started teaching myself to compose and produce music. Fast forward almost 10 years later and now I'm taking over my city (Tallahassee, FL) with the heat beats and stepping back onto the rap scene with bars like I got something to prove!

Nobody wants it as bad as you want it, so don't rely on anyone to get you to where you want to be.

M@nni M@n!a

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I haven't performed live yet because I've been focused on producing for artists locally and nationwide, but I plan to turn up some venues real soon!

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Sponsor in the booth, I'm giving you gyms! #itsmannimania

M@nni M@n!a

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I'm currently working on a few projects with various artists, while also working on my own mixtape #Ascension as well as a special collab project meant to rep my city. I have many tracks available online, just lookup 'M@nni M@n!a' on Audiomack.com or Soundcloud.com to hear my latest songs.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I wouldn't unless the deal is too good to offer. It'd be cool to have access to the marketing potential of a major label, but it's not worth giving up creative freedom. My music is all about expressing yourself. In all honesty, I'm aiming to change the game and be the start of the next major record label (I'm talking Universal/Atlantic/Sony level)!!!

Any last words?

I'm reppin' Tallanasty as well as the rest of Florida! Shoutout to my squad Freeque Sho! and #AVS music. Shoutout TaReef KnockOut, #VHS, free OZP Dizzy, and shoutout to all the other local artists in my area grinding. Florida is on the rise as the next hub of new dope music!!

Rapping Teacher With an Old School Vibe

Featured artist: Louie C Rhymes – Rapping Teacher With an Old School Vibe

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Louie C Rhymes.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Louie C Rhymes: I was a college student and a former High School Jock and always had listened to hip hop – it was my favorite. I was upset with the music currently being put out on the radio. Specifically rap. I decided to start rapping. One night at a college party some dude was picking on another dudes rhymes. I could tell this kid wasn't trying to rap. When the rapper dude challenged him I stepped up. He rhymed and then I did. Somehow I had won and the crowd yelled louder for me (about 30 people lol) than him. I'm not sure what I rhymed – it was that kind of vibe. When I woke up the next day I freestyled in my room for literally 10 hours. My roommates called my room the club from then on cause the bass was so loud. One of them gave me a music mixer. That was it – I was hooked on the hop forever.

"If you feel like rhyming don't waste it. Go rhyme. Music comes with emotion and emotions come and go." – Joel Bonny

Louie C Rhymes

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I do play live. I used to be more involved in the NYC Open Mic scene and I've done a few paid gigs in Long Island and NYC. That's my current goal – I'm trying to get back on the live scene. If you're reading this and can help please email me at oshakeslisi@gmail.com – I don't care about the money just give me a shot I'll do one for free.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I say we band together and let the races blend – Your family my family that's how a racist ends

Louie C Rhymes

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I'm currently working on a variety of projects. I like making live music videos. As a rapper I think the most important thing about spitting it is just that… Spitting live raps shows your ability – anyone can punch in my opinion. I'm not much of an album and mixtape guy even though my manager tells me I should be. I have over 50 songs/projects out on http://youtube.com/c/louiecrhymes and http://ift.tt/2cfqE5f. I am produced by Left Right Productions – a music organization created by myself and my manager. Together we make beats, and I rap, We are looking for artists who would like to collaborate.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would do whatever I possibly can do to spread my message. The message is simple – there are always 2 sides to everything in life (Left Right Productions). You always trust anyone on your side but not the other. Trust is key. Until the entities representing both sides agree to work together while accepting their differences, there will be no trust. Without trust we are limited. I'd like to make music that gives people something they can trust and relate to but more importantly inspires them to trust in others.

Any last words?

My first and main shout out goes to my Manager and Partner @RonnieManMusic co-founder of Left Right Productions (@left_right_prod). Shouts to my students at school – you are my inspiration. Shouts to my family – That's everything.

Featured artist: MoneyPz – Royal Money The Emipre Presents MoneyPz,Oakland Ca

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist MoneyPz.

How did you decide to become an artist?

MoneyPz: I decided to become an artist because I love music ,I love to rap an express myself. I Love telling my story and others who are around my me. No matter who you are ,we all have a story to tell and someone out there need's to hear it.

Don't ever stop you have a story and a voice that needs to be heard. When you rap people hear your pain and visualize what going on.

MoneyPz

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Well actually on a new up and coming artist. I've been rapping for years but this is my first time taking or serious . I've had rap battle and freestyles on stage in front on my whole school before.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Sorry For Nothing Ecery Blessing Is A Lesson Learned

MoneyPz

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Right now I am currently working on and it's other artist from my label. Should be dropping sometime before this year is over . Right now we're just getting the business side done and just crafting ourselves getting ready for this big release. I have dropped singles before in the past but as of right now I'm working on one of my latest singles for this EP. After this EP is done I will be working on my first single mixtape. I have features with other artist from my label from videos into actual songs on you.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Me personally I don't want to actually sign a record deal with a record company. I would rather go into business Partnership an agreement with a record label to help me better myself as an artist and an individual. There's nothing wrong with actually signing a deal but I'm speaking for myself and myself only if other artists decides who signed a record deal I'm very supportive but as in me I feel a partnership agreement with a major record label will be better for myself.

Any last words?

First off I want to give a shout out to God because without him I wouldn't have this talent that He blessed me with. I want to thank my family and all my friends for supporting me. I want to thank our supporters for following up on music and supporting us each step of the way.

Royal Money The Empire

Featured artist: King Smacka – Royal Money The Empire

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist King Smacka.

How did you decide to become an artist?

King Smacka: Honestly I never decided to become an artist it's like that life choose me, from my past life to now I'm still surviving the struggle while living it so I just want to touch the souls of people who can relate to the life and or circumstances that I've experienced.

Build your own lane, your own sound, and your own vision.

King Smacka

What about concerts? Do you play live?

As of this moment I haven't done any performances yet.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Same People I Used To Look Up Too I Look Down On Now

King Smacka

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Currently one of my partners MONEY PZ and I have about 5 songs on the internet posted for free promotion as well as two music videos but we are working on our EP right now featuring myself, MONEY PZ, and Slimjamin Franklin which we don't have a release day as of this moment.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Since we are building our own label, signing to a label isn't in our vision. I can't speak on the pros of signing to a label but one of the biggest cons is selling the rights to our art which I'm not willing to do. Why would I sell the rights to my music and get chump change while the person who haven't experienced any life struggles or who can't even relate to me get the big bucks? That's just doesn't even sound right.

Any last words?

I want pay respect to my city North Oakland Ca just for making me the person I am today. There are a handful of people who are also representing for not just North Oakland but the city as a whole which is even more motivation but my son is who I do it for hands down without him I don't know where I would be also my brothers are my strength, I might not be the oldest but I'm the one leading the way as I have been for consecutive years.
