Jackegee 10years of spitting and no studio time

Featured artist: Jackegee – Jackegee 10years of spitting and no studio time

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Jackegee.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Jackegee: I decided to become an artist and song writing when I was 16 and didn't really take interest in hip hop or rap it was mainly drum and bass . But as I got to about 18 19 I started expressing myself in poetry it helped me come out of a dark place . I didn't really like performing in front of people as I thought I was odd because people didn't relate to it . After writing and planning my 1st mixtape I expressed myself totally different using different types of styles to try find what's best for me . I have never been in a recording studio as I don't think I have enough work to bring a mixtape to life . I'm now nearly wrote all my stuff for the mixtape and I'm ready to put my name out there. It took me 10 years or so todo this as I felt I wasn't ready and my life experience wasn't enough .

Keep doing what you love keep pushing and you will find your self (dj caution)

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would. I couldnt speak on the pros and cons of it, being as though Ive never been signed. It would all be an experience, but making it as an independent artist would carry a heavier crown,a heavier accolade, personally speaking.

Getting to know South Georgia’s Lil L

Featured artist: Lil L – Getting to know South Georgia's Lil L

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Lil L.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Lil L: I decided to become an artist around the age of 8. I used to listen to my uncle and others around me freestyle and I started freestyling and just ended up being the artis5 from the Circle. Throughout school I didn't have recorded songs, people heard of me through freestyles and growing around others that liked to freestyle so that's basically what influenced me to keep going.

The best advice I have been given is to Focus on one main single instead of trying to budget multiple songs at once, and to keep patience and faith in myself if nobody else does.

Lil L

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I havent been live with a band or anything, but I have performed at a Concert and in Club venues alot.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I just be treatin dese women like dishes, they really dirty, I'm Cleanin da kitchen! #NoVouches

I have tapes that are Coming soon entitled (Medication,Fareal Reloaded,Fareal 2, and Young,Restless & Invested 2) I have recently dropped 2 mixtapes which are available on, Spinrilla,My Mixtapez, SoundCloud, and Audiomacc. (Lil L-Fareal) & (Young,Restless, & Invested)

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes, I would sign a record Contract with a major label, if they are offering the right amounts that I feel I'm worth, and if they have my interest elsewhere. Basically it depends on what they want out of me and and what they offer. The pros according to me are the setup of the environment and the way business is handled. The Cons are just how some labels treat artists as in taking advantage of their work and not being Clear with how things will be managed.

A1 No Steak Sauce

Featured artist: A1 Bero – A1 No Steak Sauce

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist A1 Bero.

How did you decide to become an artist?

A1 Bero: I became an artist overtime. Growing up listening to artist such as Eminem, Jay-Z, a little 2pac and biggie here and there, etc. the real thing that pushed me to become an artist is my brothers. You know how it is when your the younger brother and you see your older siblings doing stuff and you want to do it just like them. I just kept running with the ball when they decided to step back from being an artist.

Always know your worth and never accept anything less. Basically don't sell yourself short in this career field.

A1 Bero

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, I've performed at a couple showcases and open mics. I've done one concert opening up for AC Style and Shawnna.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I can't fuck with you fags cause yo square ass don't fit in my circle.

A1 Bero

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Currently I'm working on my second official mixtape with a host "Music Junkie " it will be hosted by DJ Suspence and I'm thinking of having it co-hosted I haven't made up my mind about that yet. I'm also currently working on a storytelling EP " Messages " it will be a 5 track EP. I just recently dropped a mixtape that was hosted by DJ Suspence names "Enemies and Hennessy " on live mixtapes.com.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes I would, but I think I would want to stay on the independent scene for a little while just to get my feet wet. The pros of signing a contract is more exposure, a bigger platform to spread my messages and more money. The cons are being put on hold, being lost in the shuffle, and less exposure.

Any last words?

First and foremost, I want to give ho or to God for blessing me with the talent that he has given me. I want to give thanks to my parents for being there to support me when no one else were. My team No Heart Gang for sticking with me through thick and thin. Chicago United and Show Case for the many opportunities they presented me with to showcase my talents, AC Style for giving me and my team our first opportunity to open a concert for her and Shawnna. My brothers really gave me the push though because you know how it is being the little brother and you want to do what your older brothers doing. I just kept running with it after they took a step back from rapping.

Always know your worth and never settle for anything less than that, basically don't sell yourself short in this career field.

A1 Nero

Rap

Featured artist: Ish – Rap

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Ish.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Ish: When I started listening to Eminem and Soulja Boy, something about their songs and the way they rapped triggered me, it was so amazing at that time that I continued to listen to them then, at a point I thought why not I start? Then I started with my rap, so, it was basically an inspiration from Eminem and Soulja boy.

My parents said, always live up to your expectations and follow your dream so, that's exactly what I did and, I kinda got carried and now I'm totally into it, thanks to their advice(includes my cousins as well).

Ish

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I'm actually pretty shy so, for now I don't go live but, as time passes I may get that strength to get up and go live for a concert.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

If you wanna do something, you do it, no matter what it takes.

Ish

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I released many freestyles in the past like 'Eminem rap god', 'rappers', etc. But they were only for warm up, then I started releasing real songs like 'I'm losing my mind' and, 'disastrous depression' etc, now, I'm currently working on a song called 'India' to bring awareness of the country around the world.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would sign a record contract with a major label well, that would make me famous. And, living a life of a well known person would be terrific plus, I can get to connect with many people around the world, the cons are that maybe they(the majoy label) might expect a lot from me and that would be one sided plus, it would cost a fortune to sign a contract with them.

Any last words?

Yeah, I would like to give a shout out to my family for supporting me and to my country because I just realized how beautiful it is.

Because Tone Cold Said So!

Featured artist: Tone Cold Steve Austin – Because Tone Cold Said So!

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Tone Cold Steve Austin.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Tone Cold Steve Austin: I've always loved music since I was a toddler, its kind of funny because both of my parents used to freestyle rap back when they were young. My pops name was Mr. Lemonhead & my momma was Teeza T. I got my start rapping in elementary when 50cent first came out with "Get Rich Or Die Trying." I listened to that album front to back & I started writing down all of the lyrics to each song & then from that point on I started writing my own raps down! In my first rap the only thing I remember saying is "If 50 had a daughter I'd be with her!" 5th grade kiddy raps!

Over the years that I've been doing music, I've heard the good, bad, & the ugly. I would have to say the best advice I received to this day is that "It's called the Music Business for a reason, so make sure that your business is taken care of first!" Also make sure you Love the music & don't just do it for the money is another good one.

Tone Cold Steve Austin

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes since 2009-10 I've performed all over from Milwaukee to Chicago! I've performed amongst the likes of "Tink – Epic Records" "Shawwna of DTP" "F.L.Y – Swag Surf Song" & "J.R Donato – Taylor Gang" I actually have a show coming Aug 25th. in Kenosha, Wi.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Play with my money boy its "Who Killed Kenny" pushing pounds on the block losing weight like Jenny, smoking like Craig keep some cash in my pants!

Tone Cold Steve Austin

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I just recently became a national recording artist with G-Love Productions under Empire Distribution! I just released my first single with them called "Small Talk" on Itunes, Amazon, Google Play, ect. I'm also working on a mixtape named "Set The Tone". July 4th 2014 I released my first official mixtape/album named "The Struggle" out on IndieLiveMixtapes as well as Itunes, Cdbaby, Pandora, Spotify, ect under my aka Tone_BRB.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

As of right now I don't think that I would. There are so many independent artists & labels doing there own thing without a major backing and they can live free & make care free music how they want without a label trying to knock them & dig all into there pocket book but every situation is different so you never know! I'm not rejecting it if they can come with an offer thats great for both sides!

Any last words?

I want to shout out all of my supporters & my haters. I would like to shoutout my brother Young Money and all of "Been Real Brothers", G-Love Productions & Empire Distribution for the opportunities! All of my family in Kenosha & the whole Wisconsin, Chicago, & Indiana 100% Love.

Bar4Bar (B4B): I have been writing poetry since I was about 7 years old. I have a passion for writing rhymes. When I entered high school, the love of music just overtook me when I started heavily paying attention to each artist's craft. I decided I had what it takes to this myself and vwallah, I took what I learned from them and created my own persona!

Everyone will attempt to distract/downplay/criticize you. Take what you learn from them and make your music even better.

Bar4Bar (B4B)

What about concerts? Do you play live?

The only time I played live before was during karoake nights at my job, which is actually when everyone realized I had the utter most potential to become a superstar rap artist. I perform at a venue for the first time at Rock The Mic Showcase up in Mew York in September, which will leave a mark on history, for sure!

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Go green, that's the slogan, more green than the hulk, more hulk than a hogan

Bar4Bar (B4B)

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I'm currently working on an EP about my life as a young boy from Sierra Leone, west Africa, running away from a war, struggling as an immigrant in the United States in my early life, losing my father to deportation in 2009, and having my first child at the age of 21. I have lived and currently live a story worth talking about, plenty of people will be inspired by it. I made a few tracks already, those were mainly banger music just to get people interested in my performance skills and my energy on a track, but now it's time to get to the serious work!

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I definently would. Here are always pros and cons to it, one con being the label has so much control over you. But at the end of the day, my intellect and branding myself will help me in the long run.

Any last words?

Shoutout to Silver Spring, Maryland where I grew up. Shoutout to the mother of my child, who always believed I had raw talent and stayed up all night with me just to hear my finishing music, and shoutout to Ron Hambrick, a ghost writer from Atlantic Records and BMI for being my mentor throughout the start of my journey.

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Chuckie Dabz.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Chuckie Dabz: My cousin Damon "Stormy Dai" Miller aka Mr. Super Producer was my biggest inspiration. He produced Cam'Ron's first album, "Confessions of Fire". Soon after started working with other artist ranging from DMX, Charlie Baltimore, the Ruff Ryder's to Cash Money. Once he got there and I seen his progression and listened to his music, I was hooked. His insight to the industry at the time and music is phenomonal. Ever since about 1999 I have been freestyling and writing.

If you entertain a clown, you become part of the circus. Focus on your lane and not those trying to hate where your going.

The Rising of JayVSJane

Featured artist: JayVSJane – The Rising of JayVSJane

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist JayVSJane.

How did you decide to become an artist?

JayVSJane: I've always had a thing for music I've been writing since I was about 10 years old and listening to Lauryn Hill had inspired me to become an artist. Knowing it wasn't that many female MCs as I got older, made me want to become one of the dopest artist growing up.

Never give up, even when it seems really tough always follow through even if that means you have to support yourself, just keep faith and believe in yourself.

JayVSJane

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I do live shows, I've had a few shows at a few venues in the downtown area of Chicago.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Can't take the heat, be a Bull can't even Wade.

JayVSJane

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I'm currently working on an EP called 'Heartbroken Savage,' but I have a single out now called "Wartime" and it's available now on http://ift.tt/2aRrZyL

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yes I would sign to a major label if it came down to it, that's the mission but the pros are obvious the money, just to make it out because I'm from the Englewood area on the south side of Chicago, the cons are I wouldn't want a label trying to fully change me or my music into something that's not my style.

Any last words?

I want to give a shoutout to my city Chicago, my sister & brothers and my friends Cam, Ray, Asia, Keylantra and my friend Krystal for pushing me everyday and believing in me and going the extra mile to make sure I stay on top of my music and helping me to become a better artist.

Don of A New Day

Featured artist: DawnDe1 – Don of A New Day

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist DawnDe1.

How did you decide to become an artist?

DawnDe1: Music has always been apart of my life. Grew up listening to a lot of tupac and pimp c. Learned how to play drums when I was three. Learned the keys at 6. Learned producing at 13. I was rapping when I was 10. Tried singing at 12 but them tings told me to quit but I stuck to trying and learned that too. Wrote my first song at 13. So getting into the rap game was an obvious decision because Not using a gift is like a spit in da face of the most high that blessed me with such an ability so I gotta put DAT fye on des niggaz because if I dont., who will??? Lol

The best advice given to me was to always put out your best material. Delivering a bunch of mixtapes with no marketing is never a good thing. Delivering a bunch of music with poor quality is never good thing either. Take your time on each project and give the world your best. People might get impatient but they will respect you for it because all of your music will be classics a 100 years from now.

DawnDe1

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I have appeared on multiple projects. T.B.O.D aka The Break Of Dawn will be my first solo Ep project that will be follow with a tour and multiple concerts. While I was featured on other projects I was apart of their concerts. But now its time to do my own thing. I was supposed to be apart of a concert tour last summer but let's just say a lot of things went on behind the scenes that halted many shows and many concerts such as SxSw.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Me & alotta my niggaz , I swear to god.. We r some GS.. Fuck wit my dough.. Fuck wit me wrong.. Ima call up Ortiz.. !!!

DawnDe1

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Right now, I'm finishing up T.B.O.D. hopefully everything gets finished quickly because I got to finish up my second project, F.A.C.E. . That project was supposed to drop in the fall but like I said about putting out good quality material and your best work, I don't mind patiently working on a project till its all the way finished like Dr. Dre. Most people remember the single I put out in the past, "stress free" which is still on YouTube but the streets ready for new material. So yeah, I gotta feed the streets.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I love being an independent artist but for me to consider signing with a label, the contract would definitely get looked over by my attorney. Like I said before, music been apart of my life so it would definitely be a no to a 360° deal. Anything with a million will always get my attention. Artists owning the rights to their music is what is most important to me as well. So yeah, for me to sign to a major, that contract got to be right. But I think I'd rather stay independent and consider a distribution deal.

Any last words?

Shoutout to my nigga cheeko Ortiz
Shoutout my nigga YL aka Yung Legend
Shoutout to my nigga Packboi G
Free my nigga Coop, can't wait till u get out
