Not just an artist but an entrepreneur

Featured artist: P.Gutter – Not just an artist but an entrepreneur

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist P.Gutter.

How did you decide to become an artist?

P.Gutter: I started out just battling other rappers in high school but it wasn't until I lost my cousin in a car accident that I decided to take it seriously. His death woke me up to the fact that tomorrow is not promised. So what ever you want to do in life do it now, don't procrastinate.

To understand that the music business is a business. Before you get involved do your research and learn the business end first.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Oh yes. I am currently on tour across the US. It's called the "Side Effects of Success" tour, which is also the name of the album that I am promoting

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I remember when I didn't have a pot to piss in, look at me now, you can fit a yacht in my kitchen.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I have my album on called "Side Effects of Success" I have a new radio single called "Twitter Crush" which is currently available on iTunes. I recently launched my own clothing line which is available at and in December I will be launching my own liquor brand.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I am an entrepreneur and a business owner so if a major wants to deal with me they would have to sign my label to an imprint deal. Not just me as an artist. I am so much more than that

Any last words?

I represent the 518 area code. I was born and raised in the Arbor Hill section of Albany, NY.
