Life Is Music

Featured artist: Reason – Life Is Music

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Reason.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Reason: I started as a huge fan of hiphop, 90's g-funk era but anything that displayed lyrical ability and meaningful lyrics. The two combined especially. 2Pac, BTNH, Scarface, Z-Ro The list goes on. Poetry always came easy for me, I began to freestyle with peers at first then started to write lyrics to beats.. no structure just bars. Was really just something for fun. Beginning in 2010 for fun now this past year actually being more serious working on first tape,

Be yourself,

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I've done a couple open mics where it was well received. Besides that, no. Just live rapping in front of people I share music with,

Best punchline you ever wrote?

writing up prescriptions, if you fill 'em they get paid * its really such a shame to have a system ran by banks * little pills to the numb pain gettin cleared by F D A * and we believe it all its imprinted in our brains * they broadcasting the news its more scripted than a play * putting pictures up in frames, all the images are fake * stories written on the page causing visions with a haze * all the prisoners are slaves, fallen victims to the hate *

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

First tape "Unfinished Business". Yes, I have a few dozen tracks I made. Some of which are being re-recorded for proper sound quality and will be on the tape.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

No. Pros: exposure and funds for equipment marketing etc. Cons: Less control of musical content. Projects getting shelved. label control over realease over an artist

Any last words?

I just give gratitude to all who support and show love. Especially those who were encouraging when a dude wasn't as skilled and confident rapping.
