Featured artist: Naztee – RapBeats.net Interviews Naztee

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Naztee.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Naztee: Well, that answer goes all the way back to 1993, and the first time that I heard 2Pac’s Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. album. I had heard plenty of Hip-Hop before, but that, for whatever reason, was the album that really spoke to me at the time. I knew I wanted to try to make something like that myself. I just had to. So I gathered up my younger brothers and we formed a trio called We Unite The Realest Of yarmouth (WUTROY) and we got to work on some beats and lyrics. The rest, as they say, is history.

Don’t assume you are owed in anything within the music business. You aren’t. Appreciate the smallest things; from the few fans at your early shows, to the few who buy your albums. They didn’t have to.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, I do play live gigs every so often. I rarely have done an actual tour schedule, but I do sometimes do shows across Nova Scotia when I drop new material.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I’m a livewire! Yeah, I got that fire! My desire: To make you emcees expire!

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working on a brand new album entitled, Season of the Sinister. It is an experimental Hip-Hop record which is slated for an October 30, 2015, release date online at SoNaztee.com. I actually have over 40 albums currently online for free download at SoNaztee.com as well.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would consider it, I guess. However, I do really enjoy the freedom to constantly experiment with different avenues of music, and I feel this would be a lot more difficult with a major label deal. Can’t complain about the money though.

Any last words?

Of course! Gotta show some love to Y-Town, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, for always keeping me level headed. To my entire Hoodrat Productions crew. I see you.
