Later on i got with Young Gabba the beat god and me and my lil bro ”Money Chips” and ”IQ” and ”Dock Dragon” formed the ”BIG ONEZ” and the rest is history.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Bill Money: My best friend from Jr. High School, Rocky, used ro rap and watching him battle guys in the bathroom and stairwells made ms want to be an MC. As I got older I began to take it seriously after Rocky told me I hhad skills.

The best advice I have received was to always do what you love, be consistent and fo put in %100 in everything I do.

Bill Money

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Right now I am working on a project which i look to release summer 2015.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would definitely consider any serious business offer. Major labels have the mechanisms in place to really push an artist if tbey are so inclined. On the flip side an artist can get lost in the shuffle on a major label. Being independent allows an artist to remain autonomous. And that is important as well.

Any last words?

How did you decide to become an artist?

J. Climaxx: In Elementary School I had a way of holding people’s attention simply by beating on the table & rapping the lyrics of some of my favorite artists like Tupac, OutKast or Bone Thugz.. I decided right then I wanted to be an artist who wrote songs & made beats some talented kid may perform to his lunchroom crowd some day..

It’s about the journey, the process, the path – what you’re learning, how you’re helping others learn, too, and the growing process…

J. Climaxx

One on one with West Virginia’s Unkl Dadi

//

Featured artist: Unkl Dadi – One on one with West Virginia’s Unkl Dadi

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Unkl Dadi.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Unkl Dadi: I grew up through a troubled childhood riddled with abuse and neglect, youth crisis shelters, and homelessness.. I went on to join the Marine Corps and traveled to over 17 different countries to include combat in Iraq, and Haiti following the earthquake in 2010 experiencing true struggle and desperation. After these experiences I slipped into a destructive mental state, self medicating with drugs and alcohol and ultimately giving up on humanity. It took a near death experience for me to start viewing the world as a human being, not just an individual. I asked myself what I can do to make positive changes in this world… and the answer to my question is to lead others like me, to guide those who are lost to their dreams and success… I aim to reach out to those who relate to my struggles and inspire them to reach their full potential. So I quit following all other paths in life and dedicated myself to my art. I am developing my craft to touch those who relate to me, and lead them to a brighter future for the human race.

Believe in yourself, or nobody else will believe in you!

Unkl Dadi

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I do like to do shows when they are beneficial to my career, and when I visit my home state to celebrate with my hometown supporters!

Best punchline you ever wrote?

If you can’t find good, then be it!

Unkl Dadi

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I am currently working on my 2nd EP at 212 Recording Studios in Orlando Fl. I am expecting it to be ready for release within the next couple of months. I have my 1ST15 EP available now on iTunes, Amazon. CDBaby, Spotify, Google Play, and also http://www.unkldadi.com

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

It highly depends on the label offering the recording contract. I believe the pros would be financial backing, industry connections, more exposure, and quality equipment. The cons would be signing to a label with different goals than you, signing with a label with different views on ethics and social responsibility, being confined to a contract can be giving someone else creative control of your work.

Any last words?

I want to give a special thanks to my West Virginian people, all of the current military members, all of the veterans, those artists who came before me, as well as those who will follow in my foot steps!

Mr. Punchline expert. Writer. Devoted Hip Hop culture trailblazer. Word guru.

//

Featured artist: Tru-Werdz – Mr. Punchline expert. Writer. Devoted Hip Hop culture trailblazer. Word guru.

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Tru-Werdz.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Tru-Werdz: I started off writing lyrics and storing them in my computer for many years. So one day i was writing and a thought popped inside my head and that thought was ”I should become a ghostwriter and sell my lyrics” So i pursued it and made some good money but i was feeling empty inside. Listening to other artist record my lyrics. It was disappointing to hear because of the way they changed the style of it. I felt it should be me performing those lyrics not them. It may sound selfish but I wasn’t given any thanks or any recognition. So the whole idea of writing for other artist wasn’t good for me. I decided to withdraw from writing for other artist and go forward with becoming an artist, after wasting 3 years of my life writing for others. The second i stepped into the booth and recorded my first song, i felt right at home. I fell in love with the fact that i made my lyrics come alive that night. Since then, I haven’t looked back. It’s an amazing feeling. No one knew who i was before but now people know me as Tru-Werdz.

People will try to pull you down but that’s only because you’re above them.

Tru-Werdz

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Haven’t played live as of yet

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I treat my life like its prepaid, i aint got a lot of minutes to waste.

Tru-Werdz

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I just finished my album Called ”Tru Werdz Of A Ghostwriter” It should come out in a week.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Depending on the terms of the contract. According to me the pros are obviously exposure and money. The cons are being left on the back burner and not being free to do music without the label’s consent. Lost of time and money. No exposure.

Any last words?

I want to give a shout out to my Engineer Esun and you can connect with him on twitter @Esun111 and you can also reach him on his website Masterfaders.com I also want to give a shout out to Gonz! and the whole ”We Good Entertainment L.L.C.” movement. M Da Great: How did I decide I wanted to become a artist? More like when did I discover the gift to become a artist. I was a young’n when I started playing around with it. You know using other artists beats and freestyling. Well through the years I was coming up, I found myself getting involved more with music then anything. Cause I was into sports also. Yeah, so. Years I was coming up, my family was doing a lot with music around the community. Selling cds, doing shows, making it work. By this time I had came to the point I started making my own beats and writing my own songs and this was the point I know that becoming a artist was what I wanted to become.

The best advice given to me as artist came from a lot the talent shows i have done over the years and that was keep up the good work and stay original.

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Talkslick.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Talkslick: Back in my youth i was two footing across eats wick NJ with this ill emcee name Barry Sharp . at the time i had no i idea this dude was on that mic assassin path , but we were approached by a few cats and words were exchanged , after that it was on the battle wasn’t even close the other guy walked off with his L in hand and his pride destroyed , me being a little doo wop then , i looked at that as a sign of this being something i would be involved in for the rest of my life . from that point on its all i ever wanted to do i don’t even care about the fame just being an emcee kept me from going down a lot of bad paths . so i stay true to it . its never been a bad place for me , i find comfort in being able to go there and release so i stick with it.

Pirate Pimpin – The Buccaneer of the Bay

//

Featured artist: Kaptain Krook – Pirate Pimpin – The Buccaneer of the Bay

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Kaptain Krook.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Kaptain Krook: Actually this is a funny story… I grew up in Orange County where Hip-Hop isn’t really a big thing so I was never introduced to it or my ”abilities” until I moved to Northern California and had been here for a few years…. I moved to Marin originally in 2010 but after 6 months of living out there I decided I couldn’t handle the small rural town feel and moved out to Concord off of Monument which was insane to say the least. I began listening to bay area rappers and eventually ended up meeting Crutch (Joshua Crutchfield) through a party I threw…. I began freestyling completely as a fun hobby but when my friend and current business partner Kaveh Newmen found out about the music he invited me to record in Orange County at Krazy Bone’s studio (of Bone Thugs N’ Harmony)…. I went and recorded my first song, but realized it would be too hard living in the bay to record in SoCal so I started making home songs on audacity after a co-worker told me about the program…. It was so much fun that every lunch break I had every single day I drove home and recorded another song…. Eventually, crutch invited me to record at his friends personal home studio which turned out to be AKA Frank of the dilligentz/ HIMTB …. Ever since my first verse in the studio, I knew I was at home and people started following me…. I’ve always had a love for anything Pirate and definitely lived a Pirate Lifestyle but Ive put all that in the past and put my old life behind me (which is honestly worth an interview, book, and movie all in it’s own) but we’ll save that story for another time…. There was one more vital player in my music launch and that was Chad Caswell AKA Yung Villen… we went surfing out at the Shark Infested beach Nuevo Anos and spent 4 hours freestyling in the car…. he was the first pirst to wholeheartedly believe in me and tell me to go forward with the music…. Needless t! o say I don’t leave those behind who support me… I brought him to the studio with me the first day I went to Frank’s and the rest is currently being written into history!

Ignore the hatred even if it comes from your friends… Listen to your fans because their voice is the only voice that matters

Kaptain Krook

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I have actually never performed or played a live show as I have only been in music less than a year, but I would love to perform and do shows and even tour!

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Everybody has a choice in what they do… I choose to be exceptional

Kaptain Krook

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Pirate Pimin is my first full album and dropped today actually 4/13/2015 and is available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon Mp3, etc. etc. you should go check it out.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Hell yes I would! I wouldn’t be too savvy on being told which direction to take my music or the big labels pocketing my change, but it would be a much better life than I am living now and I have a lot of favors to be repaid to my family for standing by my side through everything so I would definitely jump at the opportunity to make my parents lives amazing.

Any last words?

All my Maniaks – RIP Paco – first and foremost (the cartel murdered him a few years back), my girl for standing by through all the lonely nights of me off at the studio without her, Joshua Crutchfield AKA Crutch 707, Frank Naborne aka AKA Frank, Fillmoe Rocky (J-Roc), Yung Villen, $pencity, Cache $treet, Z (Phearoah), Kaveh Newmen, Executive League, My hometown of TUSTIN, and my new home of CONCORD – I’m showin love to everyone! Most especially though my day 1 homies who I hope to see flourish: Josh ”Smurf” D, Josh ”Smokes” A, Woody, Trips, Andrew Scharff, Prime, Sleepy, Chino, Angel, and everyone else who rode with me through the chaos

//

Featured artist: KINGWEEZY – #NEWFACEOFHIPHOP….LEARNING TO ZIG WHILE OTHERS ZAG

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist KINGWEEZY.

How did you decide to become an artist?

KINGWEEZY: Well I’ve always had a Special gift to create songs instantly whenever anything with a catchy Beat or rhythm comes on… ( hard to actually explain but a melody instantly starts to formulate in my mind)

So i guess i would say between the ages of 11-13 .

The best advice ever Given to me I would have to say would be to SAVE my MONEY, and stay True to myself, No matter whats going on, or the opinions that may surface, Just follow your heart, Stay Original, and True to your feelings.

KINGWEEZY

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Right Now I am playing Live Performances and Shows, Concerts are Next in line. There is a Place in my City Called THERIPTHEMICLIVE events Shout out to Sam Jackson. Every time I perform here the Love, Support and Crowd is bananas!!.. Great Energy and the over platform for Artist is an experience like non other. I also have other shows Mostly in the Heart and Soul of my City and that’s Downtown Dallas, Malo Ent. and Ap Rhino has also Shown alot oflove and Support with The KINGWEEZY Movement. (specifically Club Thrive where I threw my Single release Party, and plan to do another one there real soon!

Best punchline you ever wrote?

Well Now that hard ..(but I’d have to give you 2) 1st from my track off part 2 of The Mixtape series Entitled #SLUMBERSUMMER . I said I just cant see you cuz The Money in the Way ( in which is a double entendre ) and the second would have to be This one: I stated, ”All This N$#@S wanna do is Sit and Talk Sh#t..Steven A Smith. ..When there’s a WAR goin’ on OUTSIDE, Lets talk about this SH#T.

KINGWEEZY

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

As of now I am staying true to my Original set out plan of completing my 4 part Mix tape Series Entitled ”Slept On” ..(part 3) #EYESWIDESHUT is ”The Leak is scheduled to be released 06/19/15 or (JUNETEENTH) which it has become more known as.. I purposely chose this date do to some of the things going on withing my culture and incidents that have recently transpired with law enforcement.. I just wanted a project that alot of peolple could rally around, and form a state of reconciliation and UNITY, and This Mixtape most definitely provides that resource.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

You know I’m undecided.. I’d like to cross that brigde when it arrives to be crossed. I’m a business man and every smart businessman knows Never to turn down his options until he’s heard them all through completely. Also I’m focused on #ORGINALWRITER as of Now, my father before passing to me that when you handle your business correctly first The rest of the puzzle completes its self.. So I have to continue to build this until I get it to where I saw it in my vision.

Any last words?

Of Course First I wanna Shout out To The #ORIGINALWRITER Movement.. We have came along way but the journey is yet to be completed… and couple Thanks to M O double M a Great Hip-Hop Group from my city that has Linked up and Collaborated with me a few occasions but most recently on an original Special Track of mine on #EYESWIDESHUT entitled ”Hollywood”..This track is bond to get alot of attention, an not just because of the message but because my man (J. Dott) Delivers a Verse that has been mistaken on Several occasions for The JiggaMan himself Jay-Z… So BIG ups to him for raising the bar for me to really deliver something special on that one. and #PBENT where Young Gem will be on the Official Mixtape of #EYESWIDESHUT not ”The Leak” but the official Mixtape I will have the production from his Brilliant ingenuity.. (the guy is a Mastermind). and Last but not least M.A.D. ENT in which stands for (Making A Difference) This group is special and they are looking to do Really big things for The City of dallas Musically as well as myself…So anytime you have the opportunity to work with a group or anyone for that matter that has CHANGE in mind and a real purpose with the art..its a True honor and privileged. (and that Movement consist of BamBamdoubleB, Ealum Boy TE, Young Twan ( Former Trapstar Click Member who also made a guest appearance on ” The Leak” , Young Wig, Spida on The Beats Production, and the Late Member William Bennet AKA BINGS who really has inspired a tremendous amount of my Drive and determination along with Several other Family members that I have recently lost.

So these Songs, Drive, and determination is Really and generally about CHANGE.. I like to think of it as a Old Field that had to be Burned in Order for the Greatness to really show and comeback more vibrant than EVER before.. The field metaphorically the Rap Game.. and The Fire being #KINGWEEZY and all his Team and Weapons of MASS destruction awaiting to come and Take Over!! We are Most definitely a force to be reckoned with #ITSAMOVEMENTBABY!!!

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist ♔K!NG KOOPA♔ (m$t).

How did you decide to become an artist?

♔K!NG KOOPA♔ (m$t): It all started when I was younger.. When I was 13 I used to love to write poetry. (rhyming poetry).
I really enjoyed the deepness I could bring out in myself when I wrote. I had always listened to a variety of music but hip-hop/rap were and still are my favorite. One of the first songs brought to my ear was by 2pac called ”hailmary”. Basically I really wanted to a similar thing and give people something to relate to within there life and doing it by rhyming was the best way for me. I was always shy when I was younger and sometimes I still get that way but when I get in the booth or when I recite my music it puts me in that special place where not anything nor anyone could bring me down or make me feel uncomfortable. Those were all some reasons why I wanted to become an artist.

I once was told that I should keep going and going with my music career because I have a been given a gift/talent.

♔K!NG KOOPA♔ (m$t)

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I have not played live or done any concerts but I have had some of my music played at clubs.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I have mainly been free-styling here recently. But also I have been writing in my free time to create an album/mixtape called ”still tryna change”

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I would for sure sign a record contract with a major label .. I would be easily able to point out the pros and cons when it came to that moment.

Any last words?

I don’t really have many shout outs. I have moved from place to place a lot.. but if I were to have any shout outs it would be to any of the fans I have within my fan base.
