Featured artist: Therapy – Live from the Underground

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Therapy.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Therapy: I’ve grown up around people that made all forms of music, and my mom was a artist when she was younger, so it was passed down to me. I started as early as around 4-5 and I started writing my own music at the age of 7 and recording it in local home studios. When I got into high school I started getting my own equipment and started putting out beats and songs on youtube and soundcloud. Being an artist was a life long dream, I wanted to be known for my music, it was more than just for the fame and money, I genuinely love music and making it, and that’s why I started and that’s why I wont stop.

Stay true to you, never lose sight of what you’re doing or where you came from

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I haven’t had a concert or anything like that, I’m just a local town hero

Best punchline you ever wrote?

” I make em feel what I write like I wrote it in brail”

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Currently I’m working on my sophomore effort ”Therapedic”, I released my debut tape ”On and On’ on DatPiff a while back.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

That’s a tough question, I want to say yes, pros being my breakthrough into the industry and getting my thing out there, but al lot of majors make you change and become more mainstream.. sort of like a slave.. I’m not with that, but if I could sing with a Indie label or a major label that will let me be me and let my creativity thrive, then I would definitely thrive.

Any last words?

I wanna show love to all the people that have been along with me from the jump, my partner inc rime Klutch (Shawn), Marlin, my cameraman Reggie, Big Gabe, my boys Tanner and Big O, and of course my family, my moms, my little brother. Everyone that’s been a part of this, supporting what I’m doing and what i’m going to be doing in the future
