Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Varsity Hi.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Varsity Hi: I grew up a creative person i used to draw alot, sing at talent shows it was just in me.Then i got a trumpet when I was 10 found a new passion music, i would like to replay song i would hear a create my own songs. In middle school is when i discovered poetry, When to highschool that poetry became raps, link up with my homeboy who rapped too. Now we needed a soundtrack for the raps, First we started using other peoples beat, then i started mixing records to make new sounds. I eventually started chopping sounds in cooledit to make new beats, graduated to fruityloops, then got a keyboard and sampler, fast forward hear i am artist/producer.

You gotta do shows, you can be sitting there making music all the time.

Varsity Hi

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Im currently working on Cloud 9, In the past I produced for Bobby Creekwater, USS, Strategy as well as some compilations and solo projects.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Maybe, the cons would be creative control, if i get that im all for, i do everything in house. The pro’s is the budget and Name of the label seem to give people that seal of approval.

Any last words?

Right now I reside in Orlando so I’m going represent the Otown. I don’t know anyone here so i’m to shout out. Strategy my main man 50 grand, Righteous my brother from another, and Bobby Creekwater my other brother we made some dope projects but i moved from atl, so that vibe isnt the same.
