One of the Best in the Midwest

Featured artist: Alfonse Capone – One of the Best in the Midwest

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Alfonse Capone.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Alfonse Capone: Well I like to say I didn’t choose hiphop, hiphop chose me. Music is my first love. Since I was a toddler I wanted to be a music artist. Singing was not my forte, and my mom couldn’t afford guitar lessons or anything like that. When I heard my first hiphop track that was it. This is something relative to me. The flow came naturally from a young age, and writing poetry also. If you can write a good poem you can be a dope lyricist. If you possess any kind of rhythm you can ride the beat. Both of these skills came easily to me. So when I was teenager I looked for anybody in the hood, who might have mixer and a mic. That is how I recorded my first 16 or 32 bars . I don’t know was just excited to be recording something…Lol!

Don’t quit! The day you quit the following day could have been the day you were going to make it.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes I do perform live. I have not giving a concert yet, but I’m working on it.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I get low like a criminal yet Im more esoteric than the metaphysical/ In a way my style is biblical and I drip just little bits of residuals to stimulate your subliminal

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I released two solo albums: ”One for the Books” and ”Infrastructure”. The songs from both of those albums are free to download off of my FB band page. I am currently working on a new single.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I dont even really think about majors. Im to focused on what I can do on my own. I’m excited to see what all I can accomplish. If the deal is right I would consider a major label, but I’m not chasing it.

Any last words?

Shout out to my dudes Parakhan and Strycknine for providing dope beats on my last album Infrastructure. big up to my homey Blue for spitting a hot 16 on the album also, on a track called ”All the love”. What up SB City, Chi-Town, Nap and the whole entire Midwest. Much luv to RapBeats.Net for the feature!
