Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Z∆rg of XI.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Z∆rg of XI: Both of my parents were musicians and artists that didn’t pursue their dreams and settled with a job that they are just ’okay’ with. I have always had an overactive imagination, and I have had music in my blood since the zygote stages of my existence. Therefor I felt it was necessary to keep track of my life through making music, it has always been leaking around my subconscious somewhere anyways. Aside from the inspiration I had from my parents, I developed with all sorts of music and became very attuned to it. With that being said, I never think of music as something I create, but something I connect to… something that was already me before I was placed in this crazy atmosphere. I believe that I was meant to make music/art and without it, I might just be another meat-slab on pavement.

If you give 5 different artists the same apple to draw, you are going to receive 5 different apples.

What about concerts? Do you play live?

I’ve been playing live for about 5-6 years, but have never played a hip hop show.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I’m more of a philosopher than a pun-artist. but here’s one off the top of my head ”Keller gotta’ killer mute-the-mic mocking”

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I have released one tape, but it was nothing I could be proud of. I am currently working on a tape that will give my last tape a run for it’s broke ass!

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

No, because my crew will have their own label in the near future. I have no say whether a major label has pros/cons because i’ve never experienced being signed by one.

Any last words?

Big ups to the universe, SevenQRTRS (producer, emcee, painter), Mike Wing (emcee), Chim Richolds (emcee), MC Wake (emcee/producer), the 603, Geometry, and most of all my son who is having his 5th birthday today.

Where can we contact you?
