H. Master Ice: Rising Quickly

//

Featured artist: H. Master Ice – H. Master Ice: Rising Quickly

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist H. Master Ice.

How did you decide to become an artist?

H. Master Ice: H. Master Ice organically stated at the advice of a teacher. In second grade, I was temperamental because of my home situation. My teacher told me to write down how and what I feel instead of outbursting at my peers and classmates. She optioned me with the choice to read this aloud or throw it away after I wrote and vented. Consequently, I started reciting rhymes to my class in second grade. I did not start start rapping again until I was sixteen, and haven’t stopped since.

I advise artists to created from a place that is yours alone. Nobody has had your exact experience so each artist has had a unique perception they can express through art.

H. Master Ice

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yes, mostly, if I perform, I throw pretty big shows and incorporate a lot of global talent in order to give them all a chance to perform. There are not any venues to perform in my city, so I make my own breaks!

Best punchline you ever wrote?

I could pick lines out of about any song I have. The BEST line would certainly be at the discretion of the listener. I pick, today, ”The combination: rebuild and restoration. If you’re sick of your life, laughter’s a medication.” From H. Master Ice’s, -A Days Bliss-

H. Master Ice

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

I have released probably ovber 100 songs, mostly in-home recordings online and physically in my state. Now I am working on a very special piece that incorporates a number of genres including my specialty, rap. It’s tentatively titled, People I Love.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I’m aware of the cons such as low residuals from album sells and radio play. I would still sign a record deal because the productions and marketing tools/resources that I do not have, they do. To present myself to a mass market, H. Master Icewill most likely be very successful. I think many of my songs are quality pieces that if presented to the mass market of music consumers, many would buy it because it’s purely authentic,skillful and full of relatable contents.

Any last words?

I represent talent, ambition and pure hope. I can’t limit that to a city or a group of people. I do edify and strongly support people that are geographically disadvantaged and economically disadvantaged. I would like to make it out to show them that it is possible to make it with your talent regardless of where you are.

Thank you for your time. We wish you and your career the success it deserves.

Musician unmasks new album with unique sound

//

Featured artist: j leander tucker – Musician unmasks new album with unique sound

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist j leander tucker.

How did you decide to become an artist?

j leander tucker: I feel more like I was born an artist than I became an artist, you see, music has to come from inside you..from your soul. Music is something that you hear, but you feel it as well. You have to realize that the first music that we experience is our Mother’s heartbeat while we are in the womb. This is the music that awakens our consciousness to the fact that we exist and attaches us to the Universal Rhythms of Creation and Life. This Beat is the foundation of all that we are and we grow outward from there.

”Don’t worry about the song…just play the music.”

j leander tucker

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Right now I’m doing promotional events for my ”TOXIC OFFERINGS CD.

Best punchline you ever wrote?

The difficult I do immediately, The impossible takes a little longer.

j leander tucker

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Well, ”Toxic Offerings” is my debut album and promoting is main priority right now, but I am in the studio as much as I can laying the groundwork for my release.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

I am currently signed with TATE PUBLISHING. Their contract is straightforward and artist friendly and they have the resources to reach the fullest potential of success possible. These are the things emerging artist should look for in a label.

Any last words?

Of course I would like to thank my family at Tate Publishing. They’re the ones who actually launched my career off to a new level, and everyone on social media who liked, commented and reposted. And thanks to everyone who supported me by buying my CDs and enjoying my music. And thank you as well for the service that You offer to upcoming artist. This has been a great interview. INTERVIEW ITH THE MIRROR WRITER RUKAS

//

Featured artist: RUKAS – INTERVIEW ITH THE MIRROR WRITER RUKAS

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist RUKAS.

How did you decide to become an artist?

RUKAS: Since listening to Westwood on Capital Radio 20 years ago.

I knew then I loved rap. The Plan… The plan in my mind then was to completely blow peoples minds away with a combination of out of this world beats and lyrics that shouldn’t be humanly possible! Now, The plan is for me to create a goddamn work of Art! A literary linguistic, long lasting legacy…a masterful man-made musical mosaic! I intend to murder the word and resurrect it in the same breath, and force it to do my bidding for me. I’m gonna coheres the English language to strip and dance for me! Inspired by the story telling genius of Slick Rick! The sheer audacity of ICE-T, the comedic punch line of MAD SKILLZ. BIG DADDY KANE had the swiftness; BIG L had all of the above. And there was me…just a kid with a pen and a notepad. I tried to rap like these legends, but how did they put those clever words together? So I started writing, I was 14 at the time, I was wack! I stopped writing at the age of 20, left home to do all the shit you will hear in my songs, and miraculously came thru it alive! I took up the pen again when I was 30. Shit I’ve been thru changed me, I guess, made me more focused, seeing friends die around you does that I guess. So I retreated within my mind, feverishly writing, making 1 word rime, 2 words rime, 3. Then more! I learnt to tighten those phrases till the little fuckers squeaked! And so I had my style. A fellow rapper labeled my style as “mirror writing”. WHOLE PARAGRAPH WRITING! I’M NOT ABOUT PUNCHLINES, though I do use them when I feel the need. I knew then that my style was unique and original. Well…the time has come. I’ve waited in the shadows too long now, and as I leave the darkness, I emerge blinking into the light…groping for purchase…and as I do I reach for a hand, and I find the hand of Hip Hop. Heh heh sorry, that last line came from the poet in me.

”RUKAS HAS…HUGE POTENTIAL, KEEP AT IT” Ras kwame – RADIO 1. Quote during 2011 radio show where Rukas won the 16 bar rap competition

RUKAS

What about concerts? Do you play live?

YES, AROUND SOUTH LONDON, and parts of CAMDEN

Best punchline you ever wrote?

i’ll give you my best bars, I don’t stick to just punches, and my MIRROR WRITING is by far the cleverest thing I’ve come up with… – And it begun, I step in wars field/ The weapon steady swings ya gotta duck!/ I branded my tongue, sweat and Forged steel/ The second petty kings are horror struck!/ The amulet I hung, eleven lords kneel/ The legendary Sings to God above!/ A banquet for one, a seven course meal/ The seven deadly sins get swallowed up!/ “The offering of a rose basket I bare the lid closed tight/ The coffin was a closed casket affair the widows cried”/ ”In every starving land there’s a fat King/ And every laughing man shares a sad grin”/ Heights to gain ya got purpose a calling come/ Life’s a game of God versus the fallen one/ Across a Chessboard and the revelation seen/ like Gods at rest bored the Devil takes the Queen/

Greatest Flexer in “SadLanta”

//

Featured artist: Bruce Lean – Greatest Flexer in ”SadLanta”

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Bruce Lean.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Bruce Lean: All happened when I was kickin’ it with my self listening to some cloudrap music and watching Bruce Lee kicking some dudes ass. I was like damn, this music is turning me up to seeing Bruce kick ass, then it hit me. Lean is like hella popular with cloud rappers and Bruce is just such a badass name, so thats how I got the name. I did it for fun first, then after I dropped my first tape last year (which was just something to listen and enjoy nothing too serious) I decided to convey emotions within my music. So starting from January of this year I’ve been working to create something different yet familiar in a way so that people can relate to it. SadLanta dropped Nov.11 and since then has gone to receive good feedback and inspire me too continue to create abstract and innovative music. I will continue to create more music and continue to better the craft with time and experience.

None, cause im Bruce Lean

Really, I just want people to come to some of my future shows, turnup, tell their freinds, let me steal their girl, and just have a good time ya know? It’s all about having a good time no matter what situation you may be in life, life is a blessing one should treat it that way!!

Any last words?

New Southern Artist on the Rise!!!!

//

Featured artist: Tha Real Young Kano – New Southern Artist on the Rise!!!!

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Tha Real Young Kano.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Tha Real Young Kano: Well I began rapping in 2003 battle rapping against other local artists. I’m from Thibodaux Louisiana but born outta Austin Texas. Anyways I started battle rapping freestyling off the top of my head with no pen or pad. At 14 i took it a little bit more seriously when i started writing songs about pain, the trap life, the struggle, and where I came from. I began making beats in 2009 because I didn’t have money to buy beats from different producers and since then it’s been on. I put out over a dozen mixtapes and counting. I’m a workaholic haha.

Work hard and be dedicated to your craft. Keep God first and change the game.

Tha Real Young Kano

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Yea I do shows from time to time but I’m always looking do more. Paid shows you know haha..

Best punchline you ever wrote?

let me drop bombs on ya, some real bombs on ya, that 90’s style feel that’s that unsung on ya.

Tha Real Young Kano

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Let’s see, Purple Haze Effect 2 my new mixtape hosted by DJ DC Storm, Life before The College Life EP dropping soon, Ghetto City 5 mixtape, and my album The College Life: Freshmen Year.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Yea but I’m indie right now. Being in the major’s is like a parant telling a child what they can and cannot do. You can make music but most of the time you don’t have 100 percent freedom to make your best work happen. Being indie is cool cuz you can put out whatever you want and do whatever you want. Real talk. But it don’t matter who I sign to as long as I get what I want out the deal and there want be no BS at all.

Any last words?

Yea I want to give a shout out to my SSG squad Salute. My family One love. and most of all God. if it wasn’t for him i wouldn’t be the man I am today. Keep him first ya digg. Shout out to all the DJ’s that’s been messing with me since day one. One love ya heard me lol.

RxN=Reaction

//

Featured artist: RxN – RxN=Reaction

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist RxN.

How did you decide to become an artist?

RxN: It started out as a producer back in high school teaching myself how to make beats and how to play the piano. I made beats for the local artists in my town but was never truly satisfied with what they did with the tracks I gave them. I started trying to rap a few years after high school because of a day. Every time we went out to a party our theme song was Rack City by Tyga. We would drunkenly cypher to the beat of this song when a homie told me to sit down an remix the track. It took me a full month to write the song and record it being how I never wrote the lyrics to a song before. I threw it up on the internet and got hundreds of views and comments from people I knew. After that it started to grow from there I have continuously gotten better and been able to find an outlet to express myself that I didn’t have before music.

Self doubt is part of the process even if you feel like you cant get any one to listen or you feel like

RxN

What about concerts? Do you play live?

Hell Ya I play live! You can’t be ban Artist unless you do live shows that is what separates a passion from a hobby.

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Thats a tricky question I would if it was the Right plave

Any last words?

Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Kris Greer.

Kris Greer: I decided to become an artist when I was about 23. I was listening to John Mayer’s album Continuum and I remember listening to the instrument and thinkin, ”damn, thats music.” So I started flowin to an instrumental of his song Gravity and it sparked my writing frenzy. It was then I knew that’s what I want to do, make HipHop about the music. Live instruments, live performances, unplugged raw music. I wanted to change the way people who arent fans of Hiphop, see the genre.

The best advice Ive gotten is to create the music I want to make.

How did you decide to become an artist?

Grae: I starting writing in 05’, constantly writing in book margins, class notes and couldnt find anyone who would produce for me or work with me, so i stared making my own beats during my downtime. I bought myself a 20 dollar mic and started releasing my songs on newgrounds.com, getting feed back from different undergound artists that were more experienced then me. This day i am still putting out my work just looking for plays.

Fuck what everyone else says, you do you.
